What you’re seeing is a fake browser notification. It’s just a dodgy online ad disguised as an urgent warning, usually because a website tricked you into clicking “Allow notifications” earlier.
The pop-up itself is completely harmless. The danger only starts if you click their “fix” button, buy their useless software, or give them access to your PC.
How to shut the door on them 🛑
If one takes over your screen:
Don’t click it: Never hit “OK,” “Cancel,” or call the number shown.
Force it shut: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, select your browser, and click End Task.
Block the site: Open your browser settings, search for Notifications, and delete any web address you don’t recognize.
The Golden Rule: Real Windows security warnings will never pop up inside a web browser, demand money, or tell you to call a phone number.
