Every year, thousands of words are added to the Cambridge English dictionary.
A lot of these words we’ll never use in our day to day, and there’s probably quite a few that you’ve never heard of…
A boop for example, is described as “a gentle hit or touch” on the nose or head as a joke or to indicate affection.
Delulu is an abbreviation of delusional.
The ick is a sudden feeling that you dislike someone or something, or no longer attracted to someone because of something they do.
Skibidi is a word that can have different meanings, such as ‘cool’ or ‘bad’. Or it can be used with no real meaning as a joke. An example of its use is: ‘What the skibidi are you doing?’

Catfish – To lure someone into an online relationship by pretending to be someone you’re not.
Cord-cutter – Someone who cancels their cable subscription in favour of streaming services.
Netiquette – The rules of proper and polite behaviour on the internet.
